“The Sky Is Green”

You have looked up in the sky,

Without clouds it is always blue

But a person who you think is smart

Is now confusing you.

You voted for them; you trusted them.

And now they say, "The sky isn’t what it seems."

“Look up you simple child,

The sky is really green.”

You believe them of course.

Have they ever lied before?

But you didn’t learn to read.

They let you play through every class.

It will be later in your life,

That every test you face, you cannot pass.

But it is not too late

For you to learn to read.

Study hard and work on it.

It’s really what you need.

Learn to read.  It is your life

that you will save.

Or the ones you vote for

Will make you into their slave.
